RESEARCH TRIP TO BOSTON
JUNE 8, 9, & 10, 2016

Many of Rex Stout’s papers – including the original manuscripts for most of the Nero Wolfe novels and novellas, extensive files of correspondence with his publishers, editors, and fans, and personal memorabilia – are archived at the Burns Library of Boston College. 

In 2016 members of the Wolfe Pack returned to the library and of course found many interesting items in the files. We will share those findings with you soon; they require a bit more organizing. The researchers, some of the library staff, as well as Andrew McAleer (son of Rex Stout's biographer, John McAleer), and Rex Stout's daughter, Rebecca, convened for dinner at....

The finding aids for the three collections have been updated and we were able to look through some of those files. In addition, the library staff made available to us for review the recently discovered typed manuscript of Rex Stout’s “Black Orchids." Click here to read the story of the discovery.
